After two Punisher movies, the character seems to hit the small screen.
Fox has given a pilot order to a TV adaptation of the Marvel series, Deadline reports. Described as a new take on the cult fave, the Punisher procedural will follow Frank Castle, a New York City detective who moonlights as the titular vigilante seeking justice for the downtrodden. Former Criminal Minds showrunner Ed Bernero is set to executive-produce the project. It's the second pilot plans after DC Comics' The Spectre for FOX.

I'm on the fence about this approach. On one hand, I'd love to see the Punisher back in action again in some form, but on another I don't feel like the concept is truly staying true to his roots. Unless their sort of tweaking it into a slanted year one kind of story.

I was a bit suprised they announced they would develop a Punisher TV series because there will be another movie about him soon.
Maybe that's why the TV version will be a bit different and a bit less like "the traditional" story about him. But there might be some tweaks so the story will stay more truth to the comics.

I hadn't heard about another movie, but color me intrigued irregardless.
With FOX considering it, I'm a bit weary there. The network is so cancellation heavy after all. As for the new dynamic with Castle, as much as I hate to admit it, it does have some serious potential. Although, I kind of wonder if their going to sow the seed to have someone trying to track him down, within his own group.

I don't know the date but I think they are planning to release the movie in 2013. But I'm not 100% sure.

![]() The story has potiental but until we see the first clips or at least further information it's hard to say if the series will be good or not. I'm not too familar with Human Target comics but I also enjoyed the series while it was a bit different than the comics from what I have heared. I'm wonderring if they are planning to team it up with DC Comics' The Spectre which they are also developing. You can find some information about it HERE

That would be an interesting approach.
Sort of reminds me of the idea, that FOX had back in the day, when they had the Generation X movie. They were planning on having an X Night (Friday night, if I remember correctly) with Generation X and the X-Files back-to-back. I'm all for more superhero shows on TV again. It would definitely be interesting to see those two shows back-to-back.
